Online and In-Person Play Therapy Essentials

CE Hours 2

About this course

In this unique presentation for seasoned and new clinicians, Stacey Baratz Shapiro, LCSW will present play therapy techniques and how to use them online. She will walk you through the history of play therapy, various theories of play therapy, and 1 technique from each theory which can be used immediately with your clients upon completion of the course. She will give you practical, step-by-step instructions on how to set up a 4-session assessment with families for a grounded approach to play therapy with families. This 4 session assessment is from the Mindfulness-Based Play Family Therapy approach. You will walk away with a few play therapy techniques to try with your family clients to expand a deeper look into how they communicate with one another and feel within the family system. Allowing families to communicate and validate each other's feelings creates a space for children to grow into healthy functioning adults.
